As Deputy Community Superstore Manager, you'll play a key role in driving the performance of one of our large-format retail stores. Working alongside the Superstore Manager, you'll help drive sales, deliver against set store targets and making commercial decisions about stock and merchandising. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll lead by example on the shop floor, motivate our volunteer team and help ensure customers enjoy a great retail experience.
Acorns Children's Hospice are looking for two Deputy Community Superstore Managers to join our retail team, with one vacancy at our Chelmsley Wood Superstore and one at our Erdington Superstore.
This is a part-time role, working 15 hours per week
About the Role
Our Superstores offer a fast-paced and varied retail environment, with a wide range of donated stock and new goods.
Working closely with the Superstore Manager, you'll help ensure the store performs at its best, supporting the team, maintaining excellent standards and identifying opportunities to grow sales, donations and Gift Aid.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Superstore Manager to create an exciting shop floor experience that makes Acorns stand out from our competitors
- Make decisions about the quality of stock, levels of pricing and style of merchandising
- Motivate and inspire a team of volunteers
- Drive sales by encouraging donations, purchases and gift aid
- Inspire the team to exceed targets
About You
- Retail experience and experience of working towards targets
- Ability to lead and motivate a team
- IT skills
- Happy to work weekends
- Enjoy a role that involves significant levels of manual handling
About Acorns
Acorns Children's Hospice are a children's charity, offering specialist palliative nursing care and support for local children and their families. Every year, we support over 750 children and nearly 1,000 families, including those who are bereaved. We have a network of charity shops across the West Midlands and Gloucestershire, which help to provide the funding that we need to provide this care.
Our Community Superstores are large-format, busy retail environments offering a broad range of products, including furniture, homeware, electricals, clothing and more.
