Acorns Children's Hospice Trust are looking for a Learning & Development Manager (Talent Development Partner) to support our teams across the organisation by implementing new ways of thinking through learning initiatives that are engaging and relevant, with a focus on learning transfer and continuous development. You'll lead a team of learning professionals.
About the Role
As Talent Development Partner, you will unlock potential by getting up close and personal to truly understand the roles people perform and what may help them to learn, grow and ensure a continual focus on organisational success through our industry leading Academy.
As an experienced facilitator, coach, leader and someone who has experience in leadership development programmes, the role will seek to win ‘hearts and minds’ and inspire others to do things differently in the relentless pursuit of success in reaching more children and families. You will foster collaborative working relationships with internal teams to maximise the effectiveness of learning initiatives and harness the mindsets of curiosity and imagination by keeping abreast of learning trends and innovative activity in the industry, establishing an external network of like-minded individuals, transferring own learning where appropriate.
You will contribute to the development, implementation and review of the organisational learning and development strategy and shape how we train our teams and our leaders. You’ll deliver a range of learning including induction and on-boarding programmes, e-learning, virtual workshops and volunteer training. You will provide inspirational support and coaching throughout learning journeys, helping individuals to progress, achieve and reach their potential through effective learning transfer.
Taking an open-minded approach to understand and then challenge the status quo, the role requires a high level of energy and resilience to ensure everyone has what they need to succeed. Working in partnership with operational managers, senior leaders, clinical educator lead and the Head of Talent Acquisition and Development, the Talent Development Partner continually seeks to make things easy and effortless through the service delivered, contributing to Acorns being considered a preferred employer with the West Midlands region.
You’ll have direct line management responsibility for a team of three (and wider team of nine), coaching and developing them to achieve their learning objectives and goals.
About You
The successful candidate will have a CIPD qualification (or equivalent L&D qualification), leadership qualification (or extensive knowledge/experience) and coaching qualification. You will have demonstrable experience of leadership and people development along with experience of developing leadership development programmes. You will be able to coach and give feedback at all levels.
You’ll be highly digitally literate, with skills in Microsoft Office and learning management systems.
There will be travel to several sites to deliver training, so you’ll have the ability to travel between our sites.
